Description
These BBQ ribs are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked, they are glazed with a homemade BBQ sauce that caramelizes beautifully on the grill.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (for homemade BBQ sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 300°F). If using a charcoal grill, set up for indirect cooking.
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness and flavor absorption.
- Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
- Place the ribs on the grill bone-side down. If using a charcoal grill, place the ribs away from the direct heat.
- Cover the grill and cook for about 2 to 2.5 hours, turning occasionally, until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and allow to glaze, turning occasionally to avoid burning.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
- For an even smokier flavor, add wood chips to the grill.
- Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
- If you prefer oven-baked ribs, wrap the ribs in foil and bake at 300°F for 2.5 to 3 hours before finishing on the grill.
