Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 pounds pork shoulder (bone-in or boneless)
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 12 slider buns (soft and fresh)
  • 2 cups coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)
  • to taste salt (for seasoning the pork)
  • to taste pepper (for seasoning the pork)
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your slow cooker or oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. If using a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder inside and season generously with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Pour 1 cup of BBQ sauce over the pork, cover, and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  4. If using an oven, place the seasoned pork in a roasting pan, cover with foil, and roast for about 4-5 hours until tender.
  5. Once cooked, remove the pork from the heat and let it rest for 15 minutes before shredding.
  6. Shred the pork using two forks, mixing it with the remaining BBQ sauce.
  7. To assemble the sliders, place a generous scoop of pulled pork on the bottom half of each slider bun, top with coleslaw, and cover with the top half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight with your favorite spices.
  • Feel free to use leftover pulled pork for other meals like tacos or nachos.
