- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 12 ounces ziti pasta
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Once the beef is browned, stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce, and then half of the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the Baked Ziti rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
