Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches, peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to combine and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the batter over the peaches, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream!

Notes

  • You can use canned or frozen peaches; just make sure to drain them well.
  • For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or almond extract to the peach mixture.
