Description
These delicious baked churros are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a rich dark chocolate dipping sauce for a perfect treat.

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe 4-6 inch strips onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for coating.
- Remove churros from the oven and immediately roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- For the dipping sauce, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering, then remove from heat and add dark chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
- Serve churros warm with dark chocolate dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Churros are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
