  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red and blue sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12×18 inch baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan.
  9. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  10. Once the cookie cake is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  11. Using red and blue sprinkles, decorate the cookie cake to resemble the American flag. Use red sprinkles for the stripes and blue for the stars.
