- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption and tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring an even coating on both sides.
- Cut the ribs into smaller sections if necessary to fit in the air fryer basket.
- Place the ribs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Cook the ribs for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
- If desired, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking for an extra layer of flavor.
- Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For extra tender ribs, cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, checking for doneness.
- Feel free to experiment with your favorite spices or BBQ sauce for different flavor profiles.
- These ribs can be served with coleslaw, cornbread, or your favorite side dishes.
