- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and garlic for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat the marinated chicken pieces in cornstarch to achieve a crispy texture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil.
- Place the coated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
- Cook the chicken for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- While the chicken is cooking, combine hoisin sauce, sugar, ginger, and a splash of water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir the sauce until it thickens slightly, then remove it from heat.
- Once the chicken is done, toss it in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve the chicken garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
