- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Scoop the dough into a donut cutter or pipe into donut shapes directly into the basket, leaving space between each donut.
- Cook the donuts in the air fryer for about 5-6 minutes, or until lightly golden and cooked through.
- While the donuts are cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Once the donuts are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before dipping in the glaze.
- Top with sprinkles if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- For a chocolate glaze, add cocoa powder to the powdered sugar glaze.
- Feel free to experiment with flavors by adding extracts like almond or lemon.
