- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 4 sandwich buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, soak the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing the chicken on buns and adding lettuce, tomato, and condiments as desired.
