Description
Crispy, healthy, and delicious air fryer apple chips are the perfect snack. This easy recipe brings out the natural sweetness of apples while keeping them crunchy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium apples (any variety, preferably sweet like Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Core and slice the apples thinly, about 1/8 inch thick. You can leave the skin on for extra nutrients.
- In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, and if desired, cinnamon and sugar until evenly coated.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping.
- Air fry the apple slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping.
- Check for desired crispness; if they are not crispy enough, continue to air fry in 2-minute increments until they reach your preferred texture.
- Remove the apple chips from the air fryer and let them cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, adjust the sugar amount to your liking.
- Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or pumpkin spice for a unique twist.
- Make sure the apple slices are uniform in thickness for even cooking.
