Description

Celebrate Independence Day with these tender, smoky BBQ ribs that are perfect for your 4th of July BBQ.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat or prepare a smoker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
  4. Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
  5. Place the ribs on the grill or in the smoker, bone side down.
  6. Cook for 2-3 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature, until the ribs are tender.
  7. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the BBQ sauce over the ribs, allowing it to caramelize.
  8. Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, wrap the ribs in foil after the first hour of cooking.
  • Feel free to experiment with different BBQ sauces for unique flavors.
